news, news, news!!!!!

on monday i got a packet from a church in texas with a questionnaire, spritual gifts assesment, and a disc personailty profile to fill out. so i will be busy filling that out and sending it back into them. the church is located in the dallas-fort worth area. so taht was exciting, because that now makes 6 churches that i have made the short list of recently.

well, today i got a call from a church in henderson, nv (south of las vegas) and they are interested in me and wanted to know if i was still available. so now that makes 7 churches that i have made the short list at. so we are just waiting and praying (still).

but it looks like maybe by the fall i could get a position at a church once again and get back to doing what my passion is, working with students. i miss it more than words can express. today, i was reading the latest group magazine and it was so hard to read because it reminds me of what i am missing out on, but in the same token it was exciting to think about the possibility of getting back involved in student ministry.

i am soooooo looking forward to tomorrow, because i will be going to one of my favorite places manistee, mi! i have been going up there for the manistee national forest festival since i was a kid. i have family up there and it is one of the highlights of my year. i am hoping and praying that this will be a relaxing, fun and rerfreshing time. i am also praying for God to speak to kimmy and i about where He is going to be leading us and prepare us (and them!) for the place He is going to sending us. this could be my last time doing this annual trip, so i plan on soaking it all in! then next week wednesday when i come back i wil be going to one of my favoritest and happiest places on earth.... cedar point! i will be taking my neice from colorado there and hopefully this year we will be able to ride the top thrill dragster! well, that it is for now.... hopefully there will be more later.

what's your pirate name?

here's mine.....

My pirate name is:

Iron Tom Flint

A pirate's life isn't easy; it takes a tough person. That's okay with you, though, since you a tough person. Like the rock flint, you're hard and sharp. But, also like flint, you're easily chipped, and sparky. Arr!

oh no!!!!!! :O

i can not believe it..... a church in buckeye, az (of all places and names!!!!!!) had contacted me about their pastor to students position by email last week. well, today he called me and we talked for about an hour and a half, and it seems like it went well. the community is a very tight-knit, traditional and fairly churched, which reflects into what the church is like. but they are on the verge of a huge population boom.... one housing development coming in is for 80,000 homes alone! they are the largest city in arizona by square mileage, so there is lots of room to grow and grow they are! so this community is slowing going to become filled with young families, who are primarily un-churched; so the dynamics are going to radically change and the senior pastor knows this, which means the church will have to as well. the sp is relatively young for a sp, he is only 38 and has only been married for 3 years. so this could be a very interesting position and a bit of a stretch for me, because it is on the traditional style of things and that is not really what i am looking for. but i am willing to go where God wants us!

i also called and left a message for that other church in prescott valley, az, because i have not heard back from them yet. and the person i talked to said the sp is going on vacation, so i do not know when i will be hearing back.

it is all in God's hands and we are just waiting for Him to show us where He wants us to be.

the church that we are currently attending brought us up and prayed for us. it was really nice to have that happen, especially after not getting that from our previous church before we left. it really helped bring a lot of healing in me that i needed after the way things ended there. so if you are reading this, kevin, thank you so much for caring for us, loving us and more importantly being a pastor!

no gambling for me.....

i got an email from the church in las vegas and they decided to work with someone from inside of their church to take over the role of youth pastor, so the betting can stop! LOL :D

yesterday, we had a whole bunch of people over at my house, because two friends from pennsylvania was in town so we had some other friends over to hang out with them. well, during that time my phone was left off the hook for about five hours so i never got the call from the church in prescott valley, az. so i sent an email to the senior pastor apologizing and have yet to hear back from him.

but today i got an email from a church here in michigan (near kalamazoo), that had asked for my resume about month or so ago and they have a questionnaire they wanted me to fill out and send back, because they narrowed their search and i am a part of that group! so that is exciting.

and i also got an email from a church in buckeye, az and they wanted to talk with me about the pastor to students position at their church. now everything in me said that any city named buckeye is bad, but i emailed him back anyway and told him i would be interested. but it would pain me to be a part of anything with the name buckeye! LOL :D
